I’m interested in people, places and nature
I’m a photographer, marketer, fundraiser and generally curious person based in regional Victoria.
On paper, those things can look like slightly different careers. In practice, they have a lot in common.
Most of my work is about storytelling, connection and attention: helping people notice something, understand why it matters, and sometimes care enough to do something about it.
That might mean photographing a small town before it changes. Building a fundraising appeal around an important issue. Writing about the relationship between people and landscape. Or making something simply because the idea has been rattling around in my head for too long.
I like work with a bit of heart in it.
My work has taken a slightly winding route
I’ve spent much of my career working across marketing, communications, digital engagement and fundraising, particularly with organisations trying to make some kind of positive difference in the world.
These days, my professional work sits largely in the not-for-profit and environmental space.
I work across the supporter journey, from finding new audiences and introducing them to a cause, through to fundraising appeals, regular giving, digital campaigns and the many small interactions that turn passive interest into genuine connection.
What I love most is that behind every percentage point is a person deciding whether they trust you, whether they care, and whether what you’re asking them to do feels meaningful.
I think good marketing and fundraising should respect that.
It should be clear rather than manipulative, useful rather than noisy, and built around relationships that last longer than a single click.
