Marketing and Fundraising 1:1 Health Check
Sometimes, you don’t need another agency, self-help book or crash-course.
You just need an experienced marketer and fundraiser to sit down with you, look at what you’re trying to achieve and help you work out what to do next.
I offer three hour 1:1 introductory strategy sessions for A$299 that are practical, focused conversations for entrepreneurs, not-for-profits and small businesses wanting a marketing and/or fundraising health check, as well as practical information on increasing brand awareness, revenue and retention.
In this video workshop, we’ll take a look at what you’ve achieved so far, chat about your goals, identify opportunities for growth and develop a practical plan of action.
You will leave the session with clear next steps to implement at your own pace and resources to help you along the way.
You might come to me because…
You’ve got plenty of ideas, but you’re not sure which ones are worth pursuing.
Your marketing feels like a collection of things you should be doing rather than a clear strategy.
You’re trying to reach more people but don’t know where to find them.
People are visiting your website, landing page or campaign, but not taking action.
You’re planning a fundraising appeal and want another set of eyes on the strategy.
Your email list exists, but you’re not really sure what to do with it.
You have campaign results, analytics or a giant spreadsheet and want help understanding what they’re telling you.
You’re building a supporter or customer journey and can’t quite see how all the pieces should fit together.
Or maybe you simply have a half-formed idea and want to talk it through with someone who understands both strategy and the messy reality of actually doing the work.
That’s exactly what these sessions are for.
Here’s how I can help…
My work sits at the intersection of marketing, fundraising, digital engagement and audience growth, so our session can be shaped around whatever would be most useful to you.
We might work through:
Audience growth
Who are you actually trying to reach?
Where might you find them?
What would make them pay attention?
And what is the smallest useful first step you can ask them to take?We can map audiences, acquisition ideas, journeys, channels and the path from “who are you?” to “I’m in.”
Campaign planning
Got a campaign, launch, appeal or idea rattling around in your head?
We can turn it into a plan.
That might include your audience, proposition, messaging, channels, timeline, calls to action, budget and how you’ll measure whether it worked.
Fundraising
I can help with fundraising appeals, donor journeys, regular giving, acquisition, retention, supporter communications and digital fundraising.
We can look at the big-picture strategy or get very specific about the thing sitting in front of you right now.
Websites and landing pages
Sometimes the problem isn’t getting people to your website.
It’s what happens when they arrive.
We can review your page structure, messaging, calls to action, forms and user journey to work out what might be getting in the way.
Email and supporter journeys
Welcome sequences. Newsletters. Automations. Re-engagement. Post-donation journeys. Campaign emails.
We can work out what you should be sending, to whom, when and why — without turning your inbox strategy into an elaborate flowchart nobody will ever maintain.
Messaging
If you know what you do but struggle to explain it, we can work on that too.
We can sharpen your proposition, campaign message, audience framing or call to action so people understand not just what you do, but why they should care.
Measurement and optimisation
Clicks and conversion rates are only useful if they help you make a decision.
Bring your campaign results, website analytics, email performance, fundraising figures or advertising data and we can work out what happened, what it means and what you should test next.
Who I work with
Not-for-profits and community organisations: especially teams trying to grow audiences, raise funds, mobilise supporters or communicate complicated issues clearly.
Small businesses and sole traders: who want practical marketing advice without hiring an agency or becoming full-time content creators.
Purpose-led organisations: doing work that deserves to reach more people.
And people who have unexpectedly become responsible for marketing or fundraising and are currently wondering how on earth everybody else seems to know what they’re doing.
FAQs
-
Anything reasonably within my world of marketing, fundraising, audience growth, digital engagement, campaigns, websites, email, supporter journeys or measurement.
-
Yes! Send through the most relevant material beforehand so I can understand the context before we meet.
For particularly large reviews or substantial pieces of work, I may recommend a separate consulting project rather than trying to squeeze everything into one session.
-
Absolutely. If the problem involves a few people from your team, bringing them into the conversation can be useful.
-
No.
A lot of my experience is in the not-for-profit sector, particularly fundraising and supporter engagement, but the fundamentals of audience growth, messaging, journeys, conversion and digital strategy apply much more broadly.
I’m very happy working with small businesses, community organisations and other purpose-led projects too.
-
If we uncover something bigger that needs more sustained work, we can talk about whether a larger consulting project makes sense.
There’s no pressure to turn one session into an ongoing engagement.
-
Probably not.
Nicely, though.
The point of bringing in another person is to get a genuinely useful outside perspective. If I think there’s a simpler approach, an assumption worth questioning or something you can safely stop doing altogether, I’ll tell you.
-
Send me a note and tell me what you’re working on.
If I think a 1:1 health check would help, I’ll tell you.
If I think you need something else, I’ll tell you that too.
