The bird report - October

Spring helpfully timed its arrival in Dookie, Victoria, to coincide with my newfound obsession with eBird and Merlin Bird ID.

I acknowledge the Yorta Yorta people, the Traditional Custodians of the land I am fortunate to call home.

I honour their deep and enduring connection to Country, its rivers and wetlands, and the abundant wildlife that calls them home, including Bayadherra, the culturally significant turtle totem. I recognise the stories, wisdom and knowledge passed down through generations.

I pay my respects to Elders past and present, and recognise the continuing care and custodianship of Yorta Yorta people for this beautiful Country.
